No women can say no to a SALE. Especially not when it is vida and mis.sella. These two YDE labels will be hosting yet another awesome sale this Friday and Saturday at their office in Woodstock. Beautiful garments at a fraction of the usual price. What is not to love?! The perfect way to kickstart your weekend. See you there!

Take me to Church!

The other day this window display caught my eye when I was going down Spin street, Cape Town. Unfortunately the store was closed, but I plan on going back there sometime soon to see what it is all about. In the meantime I've googled it to gather some further information.

The store is called, Church. Quite a creative name for a store, I'd say. A guy called, Peet Pienaar, is owner of this amazing little concept. The theme, display and content changes of the store changes on a monthly basis, always keeping it fresh. I cannot wait to pop in and experience the full package!

Hope all of you are having a lovely Tuesday so far!

Back to work, back to reality!

As was planned, I had a rather relaxing weekend. Saturday was a day filled with eating and watching tv series. Criminal minds were my drug of choice. After watching so many episodes, it was no wonder I had nightmares of people trying to kill me when I eventually went to bed. Oh and I did manage to show my sewing machine some love when I used her to turn a dress into a skirt. I’ll wear it and take some pictures to show all of you in a future post.

“And action!” Those were the words that woke me up yesterday morning. It is a phrase that I have become accustomed to, but certainly do not appreciate so early on a Sunday morning. Lately it seems like there is a film crew in the street outside my flat every weekend. I would love to know what makes the area so popular. My grumpiness of being woken up so early was soon replaced with a rather strong craving for cottage pie. So that meant my Sunday lunch menu was sorted out and I have to say it was DELICIOUS!!!

With payday only coming up this week, boyfriend and I thought we would entertain ourselves by walking around and finding interesting spots around the city for blog photographs. He was like a little creative director. Lol!. It was rather fun. Here is some of the pictures...

Can someone tell me where I am?

Pretty pink flowers!

This is one of the beauties that was waiting for me when I came from work on Tuesday. Usually I'm quite picky about my flowers and I tend to stick to my favourites, white lillies or sunflowers. Boyfriend, however thought it be nice to "change it up". I must admit that the deep pink colour instantly put a smile on my face.

Wednesday was a public holiday and I spent the day lazing around, washing my hair and painting my nails. Boyfriend and I eventually decided that we needed some fresh air and we ventured out for a walk around town.

Cobalt is fast becoming one of my favourite colours for the season. So I opted for a comfy, cobalt blouse, paired it with black shorts and my favourite fringe bag and off we went.

I cannot believe we are on the brim of the weekend again. I plan on spending this weekend with some munchies, tv series and I might even squeeze in a little bonding session with my sewing machine. Have a beautiful weekend!

The start of a CREATIVE journey!

Animal print blouse - Vida @ YDE, Black mini skirt - D.I.Y
For months I have been toying with the idea of starting a blog. I decided on a blog title, design and even lined up my friend to be my co-blogger, but up until today I haven’t made one entry. This morning I woke up and decided that today will be the day that I make that first entry. So here goes…

My name is Gailene, I’m 25years old (for atleast another month) and this is my blog. My blog is appropriately titled, “Glamgaia”.  Why “Glamgaia” you may ask, well all my life I’ve been called Gaia for short. I studied fashion design and I have dreams of having my own label, which I one day will name Glamgaia. At first I thought it just means a glamorous version of me. Until someone pointed out that Gaia also means the Goddess of earth. So Glamgaia would mean “glamorous goddess of earth”! Kewl, hey! Okay, okay enough about my creative blog title and back to the task at hand. I want to use this blog as a scrapbook of memories and inspiration including all things glamorous and maybe sometimes not so glamorous. So come check in regularly and enjoy this creative journey with me.
