You're So Good, You're Bad!!!

Last week my dear friend, Jade messaged me to tell me that I must basically make myself available on the evening of 26 June 2012. We shall be attending an event at The Sugarhut and her main motivation behind it is that it will be in aid of cancer. I laughed and then sighed because I realised it was on a Tuesday and that would mean I have work the next day. For the whole week I was pondering on whether or not I should go, with Jade of course telling me that I haaaaaave to go because it is for "a good cause"! It wasn't the easiest decision I mean it was cold, raining and a school night!!!

However I realised I am young, wild and free and I got dressed and ready to support the charitable cause.
The evening did start out a bit faint, mainly because not many were brave enough to face the cold and wet weather in aid of charity. In the end it was quite fun, mainly because of all the "characters" that formed part of the night...oh and of course the alcohol. Lol!

A big thanks goes out to the cast of: You're So Good, You're Bad!!!

There is a pinch of good in everyone!

After a night out, I discovered late Saturday morning that my purse was missing. I turned out the whole flat and didn't find it anywhere, so with a heavy heart I had to accept the fact that someone took it while I was having a ball of a time. I was sad and frustrated and happy all at the same time. Sad, that my favourite wallet with all it's contents: Driver's licence, ID book, bank card, etc, was now gone. Frustrated, because that means spending hours at home affairs and the traffic department. Happy, because at least I still had my phone and camera. I cancelled all my cards and I was delaying the home affairs part, planning on only doing it next week.

Suprise, surprise!!! My phone rings on Tuesday morning. It's a guy from Edgars, asking me if I am aware that my ID and driver's licence are there by them...

My reaction:

and then:

How on earth did it end up there?
The guy said he picked it up around the till area that morning...that must mean that the thieve, whoever he or she was dropped it there, so that it can be picked up by a staff member, so that I could get it back. Bizarre, I know!!! Immediately I thought of the wise words that was spoken to me on Saturday by the owner of Rendesvouz pub. He told me not to worry, there is good in everyone. Sometimes you only see the bad and you have to really dig to get to the good, but it is somewhere there... I guess he was right.

So to whoever took my purse, thank you for strategically making sure that I get the important things such as my ID and driver's licence back. Hope you bought yourself something rewarding with the hundred and odd rand that was in my purse. LOL!

Blast from the past!

So I've been struggling to keep my blog updated with interesting stuff and my co-blogger has necglected her duties to help me out on a more regular basis, but nonetheless I had a pinch of inspiration while having a random chat with her on whatsapp the other day. In midst of talking about what we are going to do on Fathersday this past Sunday, I threw in the question: Name a tv programme from your youth, that u wish was back on tv. Hahahaha listen to me.."youth". Almost like she is a million years old. Anyhow she immediately answered. And being Jade she had to give more than one tv programme that she would love to see back on the black box. Here is what she had to say:

Brace Face

The original Power Rangers with Jason and Tommy and Zac.

Obviously I couldn't just leave it at that, so I asked why she chose the abovementioned two programmes. First she was all weird and sceptical, because how is this relevant to the fathersday discussion that we just had. So, once I told her that it was for an upcoming blogpost, she gave a very descriptive answer...

Well I enjoyed braceface because it mirrored my embarrassing teenage situations at that time. Power rangers, because I enjoyed the fact that these ordinary teens were transported into extra ordinary superheroes by the touch of their watch and fought off evil alien type baddies, who would appear outta nowhere, in the community park! LOL, hearing my description now makes me wanna smack myself for being into that ridiculousness but it was sooo fascinating at the time!

Don't worry my friend, I shall not judge you. I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed The mighty morphin power rangers and remember re-enacting several scenes with my friends and cousins. I always transformed into the yellow ranger, Trini. Upon googling the original power rangers cast, I sadly discovered that the actress that played the original yellow power ranger, Trini, died in 2001 in a tragic car accident.

Ok back to more upbeat things, here is the two programmes I would love to catch a glimpse of again:

Moomin

Sabrina the teenage witch

Why Moomin? Well it's a classic. It had these weird animal creature thingies. I remember it being awesome and I certainly never missed an episode. I would love to get my hands on episodes now, just to see if it is still as great as I remember it to be.I would like to see Sabrina again, because I used to be so fascinated by this teenager that can perform magic and about Salem the talking cat, that actually looks soooo fake now that I see pictures of him. Lol!

What programme takes you back and would you like to see again?

My newfound addiction is...

...wedge heeled shoes! I can almost not believe that I have just said that. (Shocker!)
I have never been a fan of "the wedge". Don't get me wrong I love seeing them in stores and on other people, but I just never bought into that whole trend. Oh how things are starting to change...
About two weeks ago I saw these cute, grey, wedge ankle boots and right there and then decided to buy them.

And a few days ago I was browsing the Mr.Price blog and I saw the black and gold wedges and as per usual thought: "mmm...those are nice, but not for me". On Wednesday I went into Mr. Price, saw them, found a size 5 and next thing I know I'm at the paypoint paying for them.

Could it be that this trend are going to drive a "wedge" between me and stilleto's???

Hahahaha...maybe not!
Enjoy the weekend lovelies!!!

Sunday at Mzoli's

This past Sunday my friends and I decided to go have "lunch" at Mzoli's. Mzoli's is known for delicious braai meat and an awesome atmosphere. As per usual it did not dissapoint. We shared meat, pap, drinks and laughs and it almost made me forget about the dress that I still had to finish sewing for my "bestie". Here is our day in pics...
